The Home Garden Seed Association (HGSA) is a member driven organization made up of garden seed packet companies, seed growers for the packet trade and allied vendors. Organized in 2008, HGSA membership is committed to promoting gardening from seed. HGSA goals include: communicating with the gardening media to promote and educate about growing from seed, providing a web resource with seasonal information about growing from seed for home gardeners nationwide, and providing a forum for packet seed companies to discuss issues of mutual concern.

The Seed Site is a wonderful UK website devoted entirely to seeds. Lots of information about seeds - collecting seeds, storing seeds, sowing seeds, germinating seeds, exchanging seeds, with pictures of seeds, seed pods, and seedlings. Oh, a bit of botany, as well.
The Kew's Millennium Seed Bank partnership is the largest ex situ plant conservation project in the world. Their focus is on global plant life faced with the threat of extinction and plant of most use for the future. The seeds they save are conserved outside their native habitat.
This is the website for Dr. Gerhard Leubner and his seed biology lab at the University Freiberg in Germany. The website is published in English, but be forewarned that the materials posted are very, very technical. This is definitely not a site for the backyard gardener, but if you want to really understand seeds... how they are built, how they evolve, how they work, this is the website to explore.
